Stitched in exquisite vibrantly coloured silk on a linen ground, this most stoking embroidery is believed to be a ‘Hairwing Ranger Fly’ which are thought to have been widely used from circa 1795 until -early 1900s). The condition is outstanding with fantastic colour retention & no loss to the thread or ground. Presented within its original bird’s eye maple veneered frame with imperfect early ‘bobbly glass & hanging ring.
