A most unusual example of probable circa late 18th or early 19th century antiquity which was most likely part of a cash till in a shop initially (see indentation to side). Featuring five symmetrical recesses, these pieces make ideal decorative tidies for all manner of small easily mislaid – most notably keys but also jewellery! Also, very useful for coins (if still a part of your lifestyle?!). Attractive light golden colour and well patinated surface derived from repeated contact with many hands and coins over probably 100 years or so! A really tactile useful sized object!
